As official importer of Playaway®, the worldwide market leader of preloaded audio players, QCT is able to develop a custom made platform for content owners they can use to offer, spread or promote a product or a message.
The concept makes it possible for you to offer your customers a complete and ready-to-use media player preloaded with your protected content (up to 65 hours per player).

The Playaway® players are as big as a deck of playing cards and look like a small book with a user friendly dashboard on the back. Because of the small size and low weight (less than 200 grams) the products can easily fit into a pocket for ultimate portability and multitasking.
On top of that the players are compliant with the most severe American quality and safety regulations, making sure that each player is both strong and safe.
Next to that the Playaway® media player has the following (technical) features:
- An automatic “bookmark”-function that remembers were the user left and that makes sure that the player continues from that same point when it is started again;
- Variable playing speeds enabling the user to speed up or slow down the narrators voice;
- An effective display that shows for example the remaining playing time;
- An easy to operate volume and equalizing menu;
- A universal headphone jack that can be used for multiple other accessories like portable speakers, FM transmitters for use in the car and audio kabels for connection to other audio/video equipment that make it possible to listen to the players in virtually any environment.
Playaway® players are never sold without content to guarantee that the product stays unique for preloaded applications. This way there is also no negative influence from similar product being sold for stunt prices in for example electronics retail stores.
Consumer research by GFK Intomart, executed on assignment of Stichting Marktonderzoek Boekenvak, clearly shows that a big part of the buyers determines the choice of title only at the very last moment. In this choice they seem to be very heavily influenced by the look and feel of the title.
One of the strongest points of Playaway® is the fact that the concept offers a lot of space – both on the packaging as on the player – for title information and marketing messages.
Therefore it is relatively easy to give the products an attractive appearance, showing the information and the pictures of the title as optimal as possible to the user.

By putting title information in full colour on the lower backside of the packaging an optimal balance between cost efficiency and own (title) identity can be realised. The uniform layout of the standard packaging makes sure that the product can also be easily recognized.
Next to that there is also a special packaging for libraries available, completely adjusted to the specific needs of this segment.
If you however prefer your own, unique concept, QCT can develop a custom made packaging together with you that meets all your specific demands.
The same goes for the sound quality where we can offer you different compression possibilities and memory sizes. This way you can chose the combination that fits your content the best.
For both the handling of the packaging as the audio files a few practical guidelines and templates have been developed we can share with you on your request.
All players are delivered in an attractive and complete packaging, including headphones, battery, lanyard, user manual and of course a solid warranty. Next to that you can chose between a standard retail packaging, a standard library packaging or a custom made packaging.

Each Playaway® player comes with a battery and is therefore always ready to use. Following to our goal to always strive for optimal quality and safety only batteries of well known A-brands are used with a long playing time (average of 20 hours).

If you want to put content on a Playaway® player, but you don’t have any audio recordings yet, then QCT can also organise the recording sessions for you.
For both spoken word as music we have partnerships with specialized studios for this. They do not only posses the right equipment, experience and know how, but also have the availability of a database of more than 300 different narrators. This way you can find a voice that perfectly fits your content in a very easy way.
In America more than 65 publishers already enrichened their product range with Playaway®.
At this moment more than 1.500 titles are available of for example authors like John Grisham, Danielle Steel en Barack Obama. Each month around 150 new titles are added to this.
